ABOUT
TMJ

The TMJ is the temporomandibular joint, and it’s a very common site of tension and pain. If you wake up with pain at your temples, you’re probably clenching your teeth all night. And if your jaw clicks, that’s a clear sign that something is not right with your TMJ. Less obviously, a TMJ issue can also refer pain to other areas, causing toothache or earache even though your teeth and ears are perfectly healthy. Sometimes you’ll need dental intervention for a severe TMJ issue, but very often you can get significant relief from physiotherapy. Hands-on treatment is external as well as inside the mouth, and you’ll be sent home with exercises to do in front of the mirror.

Treatment & Therapy

I take the time to understand the root of your problem in order to provide the best and most effective treatment. Through my years of experience, I’ve found that Treatment & Therapy is a crucial part of the recovery process.

Assessment & Diagnosis

Assessment & Diagnosis forms an integral part of my approach to treating the whole body, not just a complaint in isolation. This service is fundamental to ensuring my patients’ long-term health and wellness.

Scars

Scars can hurt. They can pinch or itch or pull into another part of your body. Sometimes they’re numb. Sometimes they can leave the whole area around them numb. They can ache constantly and keep you awake at night. None of this is normal and all of this can be treated.

Digestive System

Did you know you can get physiotherapy for your organs? Organs can become inflamed or develop scar tissue and stop moving freely, just like any other section of your body. Sometimes the symptoms are obvious, like bloating or reflux, but other times it’s not immediately clear that your shoulder pain is coming from a restriction to liver mobility, or that your SIJ ache is actually caused by tension from your small intestine.
